Joseph has over 30 years of experience in banking in emerging markets, accumulated through senior roles in 8 countries and in leading multinational and local institutions.

After 3 years of working as a trader in a Brazilian brokerage firm, in 1997 he joined Citibank, where he worked for 23 years. His senior roles in Citi included Head of Non- Presence Countries, Financial Institutions and Foreign Correspondent Banking for Africa, CEO for Tanzania, Ghana, and Head of Corporate and Investment Bank for Uganda.For the past 5 years, he has been with AIB as their CEO. In his career he has executed landmark deals, delivered growth and value to businesses and shareholders, furthered human capital and had decisive humanitarian impact to the communities where he worked.Joseph served for 10 years on the Citibank Uganda Limited Board, was Member of the Governing Council of the American Chamber of Commerce in Tanzania, and a Member of the Board of Trustees of Junior Achievement, Tanzania.

Joseph holds an MBA in Finance and a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. He has been a Private Pilot and loves music, reading and sports.

Manuel has over 10 years of experience in the banking sector, and has specialized in the corporate sector, with a particular emphasis on international trade.

He began his career in the area of Trade Finance, consolidating his experience in various FI’s, including Banco do Brasil AG and Banc Sabadell-Portugal, where, in recent years, he has served as Manager in the area of Trade Finance & Working Capital Solutions.

Manuel holds a degree in Law from the Nova de Lisboa University, and is certified and specialized with the Level 4 – Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialist and the Level 4 – Certificate in Trade Finance Compliance from the London Institute of Banking & Finance and the Institute of International Banking Law & Practice. Additionally, he is certified as a Certified Trade Finance Professional by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Aïcha has 17 years of experience in the financial sector, distinguished by her background at the Banco de Cabo Verde (Central Bank), where she worked in the Banking Supervision Department, creating a solid foundation before moving into commercial banking.

Since the establishment of iibCV in 2010, Aïcha has played an essential role in the evolution of the financial and markets department, which has become the bank’s main business focus. At iibCV, Aïcha is dedicated to developing relationships with financial institutions and institutional companies, promoting business development with these institutions. Additionally, she is specialized in structuring products and services for national and international financial markets. With a diversified and solid professional trajectory, Aïcha significantly contributes to iibCV’s business strategies. Her technical knowledge in banking supervision, experience in commercial banks, and robust academic background in Economics and Finance, along with her involvement since the bank’s foundation, demonstrate her commitment and deep understanding of iibCV’s environment and operations.

Aïcha holds a degree in Economics from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP), an Executive-MBA in Business Management from Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (UAL), and a Master’s degree in Finance from Lisbon School of Economics & Management (ISEG).
